Government has paid $280,401 as compensation for government workers in the first three months of this year.
Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Semi Koroilavesau today revealed in Parliament that his Ministry has processed and paid out compensation to 13 injured government workers worth $88,401.
He says the Ministry also processed a total of eight death cases, where a total of $192,000 was paid out as compensation.
Koroilavesau adds compensation for seventy injury cases in the private sector was also paid for the first three months of this year which was worth $216,444.
He says they have submitted another request to the Ministry of Finance totalling $613,075.
Koroilavesau says this is for the payment of 20 death cases and 12 injury cases in the private sector.
