Govt aware of claims of shortage of building materials

Government is aware of the claims on shortage of building material at the hardware outlets listed under the Government’s Help for Homes Initiative due to the high demand.

Permanent Secretary for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Josefa Koroivueta says they are making intensive efforts to ensure that the items are available as soon as possible.

Koroivueta says they have informed beneficiaries of the scheme and they have also informed the overseas suppliers on this matter.

He says the overseas suppliers are facing a shortage as well.

For the first time ever in our country, there is such a massive demand for hardware items.

Koroivueta says they are keeping track of their coverage of delivery and monitoring it at the same time.
