Government would continue to prioritize developments in Naitasiri.
This was highlighted by the Attorney General and Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed‑Khaiyum while officiating as chief guest at the closing of the Disavu Sevens Tournament at Naluwai Grounds in Naitasiri.
Sayed-Khaiyum says government was focused on carrying out rural developments not just in terms of connecting people through electricity, water and education but also to provide Fijians with amenities such as sporting facilities.
He says 69.4% of Fiji’s population consisted of youths, and government was committed to ensuring they had access to the best facilities in the area of sports, employment and other economic opportunities.
The Attorney general also congratulated the organisers and the participating teams for the Disavu Sevens Tournament.
Fulton Hogan Tabadamu defeated First Landing 12 – 7 in the final.
Meanwhile, the AG also held a talanoa session with the people of Naitasiri where he spoke about the Help for Homes initiative, development of sporting facilities in the area and the civil service reforms.
