Government not only focusing on job creation but also people becoming job creators themselves

The government is not only focusing on job creation but also people who become job creators themselves, therefore government needs to provide the right tools, environment and skills sets for them to be attracted to the segments by government.

Biz Fiji is not just about creating a work environment for existing businesses but also ensuring to attract new businesses.

Attorney General and Minister for Economy, Civil Service and Communications Aiyaz Sayed‑Khaiyum mentioned this during the launch of the bizFiji online portal at Suvavou House.

He says the idea is to ensure they have applications available online when launching applications and getting approvals online to keep track on the system so they can know at what stage their building application,  permit or business application is at.

Sayed‑Khaiyum also says this enhances the transparency and efficiency level of the inter‑agency processes and reduces the need to visit multiple agencies to gather information and clarify the procedures involved.

With this portal, applicants will be better informed in one convenient website accessible from mobile devices as well as desktop computers.
