A 12-year-old girl received injuries in a road accident at Kalekana in Lami yesterday morning.
The girl was walking along the footpath when she was chased by a dog.
She ran onto the road and was hit by a vehicle.
She was treated at the CWM Hospital and sent home.
Police have questioned and released the driver of the vehicle as investigations continue.
Meanwhile, under the Dog Act 1971, if any dog on any street, public road or public pathway or in any public place rushes at or attacks any person and whereby any person is injured or endangered or any property is injured or endangered, the owner of such dog shall be guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $100.
