Getting a skill is the single most important aspect anybody can have and the Construction Industry Council recognises that there is a huge issue with the lack of trained workers in the country.

These were the sentiments of Construction Industry Council CEO Vijay Naidu while speaking at the opening of their office at Fiji National University's Derrick Campus in Samabula.

Naidu says he encourages unemployed people around the country to get a skill and a job in the Construction Industry.

Naidu says that they are hoping that through the Council’s education and training initiative, technical institutions which are offering training courses will be able to align those courses with the industry’s needs.

He says they must talk to the industry to find out what the industry actually needs and then design courses and align them to those needs.
