SODELPA parliamentarian, Viliame Gavoka believes that he is a unifier that the party needs and he can lead SODELPA to winning the 2018 general elections.
Gavoka who has worked in the tourism and banking industry, said he already has major plans for 2018 starting with free university education for all students, a new hospital and finding a solution for the land lease problems.
Gavoka stressed that he will try to change the perception of many that SODELPA is seen as a racist party.
While some within SODELPA are against Sitiveni Rabuka contesting the party leader’s post, Gavoka believes that Rabuka should be given a chance.
Gavoka started his career with the Fijian and Mocambo Resorts in 1978.
He also worked for Citybank and later became the CEO of Fiji Visitors Bureau.
Gavoka is also a former Chairman of the Fiji Rugby Union.
The SODELPA AGM will be held in Suva this Saturday.
Gavoka, Rabuka, Anare Jale, Ratu Isoa Tikoca and Ratu Kiniviliame Kiliraki are vying for the party leader’s post.
The party leader will prepare SODELPA for the 2018 elections while Ro Teimumu Kepa will continue as the Opposition Leader.
