Fuel and gas prices will increase from midnight tonight.
The price of unleaded fuel will go up by 12 cents from $1.83 a litre to $1.95 a litre, diesel will go up by 13 cents from $1.47 to $1.60 a litre, the price of kerosene will go up from $1.26 to $1.36 a litre while premix will rise to $1.80 a litre from $1.67.
There are significant price increases for gas.
A 4.5kg cylinder of gas will cost you $14.14 from tomorrow.
The current price is $12.04.
The price of a 12kg cylinder of gas will go up from $32.11 to $37.71 from midnight tonight.
The price of autogas will go up from $1.52 a litre to $1.77 a litre.
Prices will vary outside urban areas.
Minister for Industry and Trade Faiyaz Koya says the underlying reason for the price rise in fuel is because the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries or OPEC decided to cut production in November last year so we are now feeling the effects of that.
