The frustration, cries and suffering of the people of Navua is finally over after the opening of the new Navua Hospital.
Those were the words of Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama while opening the hospital earlier today.
He said the people of Navua will enjoy the world class facility at the hospital where the rising flood waters will not be able to reach.
Bainimarama said the new hospital includes 20 beds, both outpatients and inpatients quarters and will have the ability to attend to 150 patients a day.
He added that it is equipped with latest technology as well as an ambulance for emergency situations.
The services will include consultation, special clinics, general outpatients, physiotherapy, lab and x-ray services.
It also has a staff quarters, backup generator, mortuary, incinerator and a water tower.
Bainimarama said the project was made possible through the Chinese government who contributed $11 million.
He added that today marks a huge step in the right direction and it is the major milestone in their efforts to lift the medical standard they offer particularly outside big city centers.
