The Fijian Elections Office will be conducting the elections again for the National Union of Hospitality, Catering and Tourism Industries Employees.
Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem says due to the irregularities found in the voter list, they were not comfortable in proceeding with the count and the election was declared null and void.
Saneem says they had received complaints from about 60 people that they were not on the voter list and they had alleged that they were supposed to be members.
He says some of them had sent proof of their membership deduction.
Meanwhile, Saneem says a more serious approach is needed in the area of membership listing of Trade Union Elections as it has been found that this is an area that has delayed most of the elections that the Fijian Elections Office has organized.
The election for the National Union of Hospitality, Catering and Tourism Industries Employees will take place on the 6th and 7th of October.
