The French Embassy together with the University of the South Pacific is organizing an important program this week called the Climate Change Adaptation in the South Pacific, Science and Culture Week.
Secretary General of the National Observatory on the Effects of Climate Change, Nicolas Beriot says that talking about climate change is very important in the Pacific as it has strong impacts on Pacific islands.
Beriot says science has done a lot in the 80s but scientific information is not enough.
Beriot adds that if people want to move forward, they must reach out to society and policy makers as climate change requires societal change and theological transition.
Meanwhile, perspectives on climate change policy in the South Pacific will be tabled today during the meeting at USP.
