Four police officers have been suspended with immediate effect pending further investigations into the death of Vilikesa Soko while in police custody.
Soko was allegedly involved in the robbery at the City Forex Foreign Exchange in Nadi more than a week ago.
In a statement released yesterday, Police Commissioner Ben Groenewald said he will not release the identities of these officers because the criminal investigation is ongoing and all evidence is subjudice, meaning it cannot be discussed publicly.
He said those involved will be subject to full force of the law and once investigations are complete they will pass their findings to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
