Four local road contractors have been awarded tenders totaling up to more than $8 million by the Fiji Roads Authority.
FRA Chief Executive Officer, Neil Cook said these road works will begin soon.
In the Central Division, Hotspring Hire Limited has been awarded the Veisa Farm Road upgrade project with a project value of $900,000.
Cook said this project will see the construction of unsealed road upgrade works, on the Veisa Farm Road off the Kings Road near Logani Village north of Nausori.
The Namuavoivoi Road in the North has been given to Hussain’s Plant Hire for the tender sum of $2.4 million.
Cook added that this will be the construction of unsealed road on the Namuavoivoi Road in Vanua Levu.
He also said that A Khan Hire has come out successful in their bid and they were given the Raravula Farm Road project in Vanua Levu.
Cook said the company will be overseeing the construction of 12km of unsealed road.
The project value comes to a total of $1.1 million.
Meanwhile, Kashmir Transport has also been awarded a tender with the project value of $4.1 million where the transport company will upgrade the Wailevu West Coast Road and Kubulau Peninsula Road from Dawara Bridge to Nadivakama Bridge.
