A former senior officer of the Itaukei Land Trust Board has been charged with one count of abuse of office by FICAC.
56-year-old Samisoni Matasere is alleged to have facilitated the purported selling of lots of land which is part of Colo-i-Suva and was prejudicial to rights of the Itaukei Land Trust Board and the members of the Mataqali Qoma.
The alleged incident happened between 13th August 2007 and 31st August 2008 while Matasere was employed by TLTB as the Senior Land Use Planner.
Matasere has been granted bail under strict conditions and will have to report to the Valelevu police station every Saturday from 8am to 5pm.
The matter will be called on the 12th of next month for second phase of disclosures.
