Former school teacher trial to start on 5th Feb

A 39-year-old former school teacher charged with 10 counts of rape will have his trial date set on the 5th of next month.

It is alleged that the man had raped his student in a hotel in Suva from the 12th to the 13th of February 2016.

The man had earlier pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Judge Justice Riyaz Hamza has extended his bail.
