A former primary school teacher who is charged with rape, abduction of an underage person and defilement of a student has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
He is charged with one count of rape, four counts of abduction of underage person with intent to have carnal knowledge and three counts of defilement.
The alleged incidents happened this year.
It was heard in court that the teacher was teaching at the same school attended by the student in Suva.
It was also heard in court that the man and the student were in a relationship.
Prosecution lawyer, Lavenia Bogitini informed Judge, Justice Daniel Goundar that the man is charged with rape because when the alleged incident happened, the girl was 12-years-old.
His bail is extended and the case has been adjourned til the 11th of September.
