A former Water Authority of Fiji employee appeared in the Nadi Magistrates Court today facing corruption related charges involving $10,373.75.
FICAC charged Nunia Rasolo with two counts of general dishonesty causing a loss and one count of falsification of documents for offences allegedly committed in 2014.
It is alleged that on two occasions, Rasolo did not deposit $7,100.00 and $3,273.75 into the prescribed Water Authority of Fiji’s bank account.
These amounts were revenue received by the Authority from its customers.
The accused is also alleged to have falsified the Water Authority of Fiji lodgement form by altering the Premium Centre Nadi Branch stamp date for the first amount to elude her wrongdoing.
FICAC State counsel Francis Puleiwai informed the court that the first phase of disclosures were served.
Magistrate Peni Dalituicama granted bail with a bail bond of $1,500, issued a stop departure order and instructed her to report to the FICAC Lautoka office every fortnight.
The matter was adjourned to 10th of next month for the second phase of disclosures to be served.
This is the third case FICAC has produced before the courts involving alleged corruption within Water Authority of Fiji this year.
