A man who admitted to committing bribery was sentenced and fined in the Suva Magistrates Court today.
Former Water Authority of Fiji’s Project Leader of Integrated Meter Management Tuimasi Cataki was sentenced to 10 months in prison.
He will have to serve 3 months in prison and the remainder of the 7 months has been suspended for two years.
He has been ordered to pay a fine of $2000 to be paid immediately or an extra 200 days in prison would be incurred.
He was charged by FICAC last year with one count of Bribery for accepting $500 from the Director of Sphynx Solutions Pty Ltd, who Water Authority had just awarded a purchase order to for the supply of 200 meter boxes.
