A former Post Fiji employee conducted a bogus money transfer 2 years ago and this issue has been referred to police and is now before the courts.
This was highlighted by Head of Marketing of Post Fiji Limited, Isaac Mow when questioned by the Public Accounts Committee Chairperson, Ashneel Sudhakar on how a former Post Fiji worker took off with the money.
Mow adds that the former employee transferred money under her name from Seaqaqa and the receiver was a family member in Sigatoka.
Head of Finance Post Fiji, Raiyaz Ahmed also highlighted that Post Fiji Limited now has 49 of it’s centres carrying out electronic transactions of daily operations and this is connected to a data base at it’s head office and their remaining 10 centres are still operating as stand alone offices.
Ahmed says that this has helped with the daily reconciliation of their accounts at the Post Fiji Head Office and it’s various centres.
