Former Police CID Director on corruption charges to take plea next month

Former Police Director CID Luke Rawalai

Former Police Director CID Luke Rawalai who is charged by FICAC with three counts of abuse of office and two counts of receiving a bribe will take his plea on the 15th of next month.

It is alleged that Rawalai between 1st December 2012 and 31st January 2014 received a benefit of $5,723 for himself with the intention that his duties as a public official will be influenced.

Rawalai also allegedly received a benefit of $2,400 for himself with the intention that his duties as a public official will be influenced.

It is alleged that Rawalai between 17th June 2011 and 14th March 2014 did arbitrary acts for the purpose of gain namely interfered with the Police Investigation into an allegation of rape.

It is also alleged that Rawalai between 1st December 2012 and 31st January 2014 did arbitrary acts for the purpose of gain namely interfered with the Police Investigation conducted into an allegation of forgery.
