None of the former Prime Ministers are entitled to have diplomatic passports after they leave office.
Director of Immigration, Nemani Vuniwaqa has made it clear that there is no policy in place to allow former Prime Ministers to hold onto their diplomatic passports.
He also clarifies that spouses of the Prime Ministers can only travel on diplomatic passports when it is an official trip.
Fijivillage had sought clarification from the Immigration Department after former Prime Minister Mahendra Chaudhry was stopped from using his diplomatic passport a few weeks ago.
