A former NFP proposed candidate charged with 11 counts of sexual related offences has pleaded not guilty to all counts.
The 66-year-old man is charged with 7 counts of rape, 3 counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent assault.
It is alleged the man raped his 53-year-old sister-in-law in Nasinu on the 28th of June.
It is alleged the man approached the woman and asked if he could spend the night at her house as he was too tired after a wedding and could not go back home.
The man allegedly started knocking on the woman's bedroom door in the middle of the night and then forcefully got into the room.
He then allegedly raped the woman.
The woman had managed to free herself and then locked the man in the bathroom and called the police.
High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar has adjourned the case to 4th December for pre-trial conference.
The man's bail has been extended.
