Former CEO of Sun Insurance, Lolesh Sharma has been charged with attempt to undue influence and his case was called in the Suva Magistrates Court earlier today.
It is alleged that Sharma attempted to hinder or interfere with the free exercise or performance of the political right of the employees of Sun Insurance Limited that is relevant to the 2018 general elections.
The alleged incident occurred on the 4th of October last year.
Sharma was not present in court today as he is overseas.
Defence lawyer, Adish Kumar Narayan informed the court that FICAC had served him with the summons and not to Sharma.
He further said that he does not have any instructions to appear for Sharma.
Magistrate Waleen George advised FICAC to go through INTERPOL if they are facing difficulties finding Lolesh Sharma.
She has also ordered FICAC to serve the summons to Sharma.
The case has been adjourned to 3rd September.
