FICAC has charged the former CEO of Post Fiji Limited and a senior manager of the company with corruption-related offences.
Former CEO of Post Fiji Wing Ham Wong is charged with one count of Aiding and Abetting False Misleading Documents and one count of General Dishonesty Causing a Loss while current Supply Chain Manager Abdul Irshad Ali is charged with one count of Producing False or Misleading Documents.
It is alleged that between the 1st of July to the 1st of October, 2016, Wing Ham Wong caused a risk of loss to the Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority and provided an underrated value for an LG LED TV purchased for his own use knowing that a loss will occur to the Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority.
It is also alleged that Wong between the 1st of July and 31st of October 2016 aided and abetted Ali in providing a tax invoice to a Amit Kumar Prasad of Speedy Customs Agency knowing that the document was false.
It is alleged that between the 1st of July and 31st of October 2016, Abdul Irshad Ali submitted a tax invoice to Amit Kumar Prasad of Speedy Customs Agency knowing that the document was false.
Both men have been granted a bail bond of $1000 with two sureties each. They have to surrender their passports on Monday.
The case will be called on the 14th of March for mention.
