20-year-old Ravinesh Chand

Spending many sleepless nights driving a bus in Suva while attempting to make a future for himself has finally paid off for Labasa lad Ravinesh Chand now that he has graduated as a police officer.

The 20-year-old revealed that he came to Suva to make a future for himself but his first attempt to join the Force had been unsuccessful.

Chand says he then went on to get his licence and became a bus driver and also enrolled for a Bachelor of Software Engineering at USP.

He says it was very difficult for him to stay so far away from his family but his friends helped him adjust to the new environment.

Chand says it has always been his ambition to become a Police Officer and when the Police Force started their recruitment drive again he did not hesitate to apply again.

He says he now plans to keep working hard and to climb up the ranks of the Fiji Police Force.
