Flood warning remains for low lying areas in Rakiraki

A flood warning remains in force for all low lying areas along Rakiraki River including Rakiraki town.

A strong wind warning remains in force for the land areas of the Yasawas and Mamanuca groups.

Severe Tropical Cyclone Winston which is now a Category 4 system was located about 760km west of Nadi at midday today.

The Nadi Weather Office has said associated rain bands continue to affect the group.

Tropical Cyclone Winston is near Vanuatu and we will only feel the indirect effects of the system.

This will bring associated rain and winds.

Looking at the situation on the ground, there have not been any reports of flooding.
