Cane farmers from Wainikoro, Labasa, will now feel safer when transporting their sugarcane to the Labasa Sugar Mill as the work on the 30-metre single lane bridge in Nakelikoso along Wainikoro has been completed.
Fulton Hogan Hiways Manager Jashneet Deo said the Naturu Bridge was damaged two months ago when the sugarcane crushing season started.
Deo said they had to set up a temporary bypass and when the Fiji Roads Authority offered the contract, it took them two weeks to get the bridge up.
He said that the bridge is now ready for use.
