A homicide squad in the Australian city of Perth is investigating the case of three young girls and two women who were found dead in an inner city house.
Police confirmed early this morning that the bodies police found yesterday at the home on Coode Street in Bedford were twin two‑year‑old girls, a three‑and‑a‑half‑year‑old girl, their mother and grandmother.
A man, believed to be in his 20s, is currently assisting police and remains in custody, but no charges had been laid yet.
It's believed he provided information which led police to the home on the busy Perth street.
Neighbours were reported saying they had not seen the family for a week.
Steele called the discovery "heartbreaking" and said the tragedy would send a ripple through the wider community.
