Amrit Lal who is the first state witness in the trial of the 47-year-old man charged with murder and robbery identified the accused, Sudesh Mani Naidu in court today.
Lal told the Suva High Court that on the day of the incident on 13th January 2013, Mani had hired his van from the Lautoka Wharf to his house at Johnson Street.
He told the court that Mani was wearing black jeans and a T-shirt on that day.
It is alleged that Naidu robbed Vidiya Wati of $2,200 worth of assorted jewellery and then murdered her.
