The Fiji Response Team deployed to Vanuatu by the Government handed over a first wave of relief supplies to the Vanuatu Foreign Affairs Minister Sato Kilman.
The relief supplies which included a container load of dry food rations and clean and safe drinking water will help the Vanuatu authorities address a critical need for food and water following Cyclone Pam’s devastation.
Commissioner Western and former National Disaster Management Director Lieutenant Colonel Manasa Tagicakibau said Fiji made a commitment to come forward and see all the areas of possible assistance.
Vanuatu Minister Kilman said the handover ceremony was a testimony that friends and partners can stand together in times of crisis.
