The first electric bus is expected to arrive in Fiji by June this year.
Tebara Buses Limited CEO, Arvind Maharaj confirmed that the electric bus will arrive from China and will cost them between $550,000 to $600,000 with the battery charger.
He said the electric bus will have zero emission as it will have no engine.
Maharaj said they will be making savings of about 60 percent by using electric buses as the cost for the fuel and regular maintenance of engine buses is high.
It will take up to three hours for the electric bus to be fully charged which will operate for about 160 kilometres.
