The first Technical College in the Southern Division has been established at Nabua Sanatan Primary School which will provide technical studies to students who finished Year 10 last year.
This Technical College in Nabua will provide Certificate One and Certificate Two level of qualification in skilled areas.
Education Minister, Dr Mahendra Reddy said this is a major initiative by the government where they want to provide qualification pathways to those students who are interested in technical studies.
The Education Ministry has signed a memorandum of understanding with Shree Sanatan Dharam Prathinidhi Sabha of Fiji where the Ministry will use the school facilities for the next 10 years.
The Ministry will pay the Sabha $2,000 every month for the usage of their school.
Meanwhile, two more Technical Colleges have been established recently in the country which are situated in Nadi and Labasa.
