More than a hundred thirty thousand dollars total sales was recorded by the 462 women’s group during the First National Women’s Expo last month.
Minister for Social Welfare, Women and Poverty Alleviation Dr Jiko Luveni said with only eighty five groups of women from the Eastern Division they earned the highest amount of more than forty thousand dollars.
Dr Luveni said the Northern Division walked away earning more than thirty five thousand dollars, the Western Division earned more than thirty thousand dollars while the Central Division earned more than twelve thousand dollars.
She said the highest selling products at the National Women’s Expo are honey, mix craft ware, sewn products and virgin coconut oil.
She said the Ministry will want to lock in sponsorship before the end of 2015 to allow them to plan better.
A total of 1938 women participated at the First National Women’s Expo.
