The first Mediation Office in Fiji has been opened today aimed at taking pressure off the courts in Fiji.
Chief Justice Anthony Gates highlighted this while speaking to Fijivillage at the opening of the first Fiji Mediation Office in Suva earlier today.
Chief Justice Gates says they have opened the office to help settle disputes at a lower cost and at a much faster rate.
He adds that it will also take the pressure off the courts in Fiji.
A representative of the Singapore Mediation Centre George Lim says that Fiji has recorded the highest success rate for a mediation centre with 85%.
Lim says that usually other mediation centres around the world record a success rate of 70 to 75%.
