Fire victims receive $5,000 cheque from Minister for Local Government, Housing and Environment

Four fire victims received $5,000 cheque from the Minister for Local Government, Housing and Environment, Parveen Bala this morning to help them in constructing their houses.

The Ministry says these victims lost their houses in fire incidents this year and while some of them could save only some things, most of them were left with nothing but the clothes they were wearing.

One of the recipients from Olosara, Sigatoka, Rajeshwar Rai says he is thankful for the assistance as he is planning to build a small house for his family.

Meanwhile, another recipient, Ateca Aditukana of Kalabu settlement says she is blessed to receive the cheque from the Ministry as she plans to get the builders in by next week to help build her new home.
