Fiji Hotels and Tourism Association President, Dixon Seeto

Fiji Hotels and Tourism Association President, Dixon Seeto says they are impressing on government that Fiji’s tourism industry needs to remain competitive with the rest of the world and in particular with Asia.

As the industry stakeholders await the announcement of the 2019/2020 National Budget tonight, Seeto says they are hoping for a budget that will help develop the tourism industry more.

Seeto says they hope for a budget that will give support to various segments of the industry.

He has also called for more support for Tourism Fiji.

Meanwhile, Minister for Tourism Premila Kumar earlier highlighted that our tourism industry is now worth $2 billion and Fiji is well on track to reach the $2.2 billion industry target by 2021.

She says it is a united industry, one that connects, builds bridges, moves the Fijian economy forward, and contributes to more than 30% to Fiji’s GDP, employing 1 in 3 people.
