31-year-old Lasarus Ratuere who is a Fijian Australian actor, has hit the big screen and stars in the latest Hollywood movie, Ghost in the Shell.
Born in Adelaide, Ratuere grew up in Brisbane.
Ratuere graduated from The Performing Arts Conservatory in 2012, featured in the world war epic The Digger, then made his American television debut in Steven Spielberg’s and 20th Century Fox's sci‑fi Terra Nova.
He features as Ishikawa of Section 9 in the DreamWorks and Paramount Pictures feature film adaptation of Ghost in the Shell being shown in cinemas this week.
The movie also stars top Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson.
The LA Times reports that if you look at the movie, it’s really very diverse casting.
It says that you have a Fijian (Lasarus Ratuere), a Dane, several Japanese actors, including one of the country’s biggest stars [Takeshi Kitano].
