Fijian Parliament offers its condolences to families of those killed and injured in London attack

Speaker of Parliament Doctor Jiko luveni will write to the UK parliament regarding the attack in Westminster earlier today which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries.

Doctor Luveni told parliament that Fiji has a close relationship with the UK parliament and she will write to the Speaker of the House Of Commons and the Lord Speaker in the House of Lords to offer her condolences.

She also offered her condolences on behalf of the Fijian parliament to the families of those killed and injured this morning.

The death toll in the attack near the UK's parliament has increased to five, with at least 40 people injured.

The victims include three members of the public and one police officer who was stabbed.

The attacker is also dead after being shot by police, just inside the gates to the Palace of Westminster.

The attacker used a vehicle to run down pedestrians on Westminster Bridge before crashing into Parliament's railings.
