The Fijian Elections Office received a total of 6,657 applications for postal voting as at 3pm yesterday.
This has been confirmed by the Acting Director of Strategic Development and Communications Edwin Nand at the closing of the Postal Vote Applications yesterday.
He adds that 5,811 applications have so far been approved and one application has been rejected as it was incomplete but the voter was asked to reapply.
845 applications are still being processed and their status will be announced at a later stage.
The Fijian Elections Office received 5,585 applications for postal voting from Fiji, 57 from the other Pacific Island countries, 422 from Australia and New Zealand and 593 from the rest of the World.
