The Fijian Elections Office has received 7 objections and one appeal in relation to the 2018 general elections and has closed the objection and appeal period at 4pm yesterday.
Electoral Commission Chairman, Suresh Chandra has announced that the objections and appeal will be deliberated upon today and the Commission will then reveal what the objections were.
NFP Youth Wing President Sharveen Chaudhary had entered the premises 43 seconds after 4pm with an objection and the objection was refused by the Chairman.
It was later clarified by Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem that Chaudhary himself had agreed that he entered the premises 43 seconds after the closing.
Meanwhile, FijiFirst Party has filed their individual Assets and Liabilities Declaration with the Fijian Elections Office yesterday.
Attorney General and FijiFirst General Secretary Aiyaz Sayed‑ Khaiyum who has filed the declaration says the nominated candidates are required to submit their assets and liabilities which the party has done yesterday for all their 51 candidates.
The last day for Assets and Liabilities Declaration by all parties is on the 23rd of this month.
