“The Sitiveni Rabuka government in 1987 and the Voreqe Bainimarama government are totally different due to the different policies that the two have implemented.”
This is the comment made by FijiFirst Party’s proposed candidate Timoci Natuva in a campaign meeting at Sawani Village School last night.
Natuva said Rabuka’s government was focused on looking after the interests of a few people and most of their policies failed.
He said the Rabuka led government had nothing good for Fiji and made the Itaukei race seem superior than other races.
Natuva said this led to the migration of a number of non-Itaukei people.
Meanwhile, Natuva added that Bainimarama’s government caters for the poor people and focuses on the development of Fiji.
He said the current government is providing free education and free bus fare for the underprivileged.
Natuva said it has also streamlined tax collections and that has resulted in FRCA collecting one billion dollars at the end of last month.
