21 proposed candidates have been announced by the FijiFirst Party yesterday.
These include FijiFirst Leader, Voreqe Bainimarama, Party President, Doctor Jiko Luveni and General Secretary, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
Other proposed candidates for the FijiFirst include high jump gold medalist in the 2012 Paralympics Iliesa Delana, marine researcher Teddy Fong, Savusavu businesswoman and former Miss Hibiscus Lorna Eden, former Permanent Secretary for Justice Mere Vuniwaqa, Doctor Mahendra Reddy, Alexandra O’Connor, Nemani Bainivalu, Alifereti Nabulivou, Rosie Sofia Akhbar, Joseph Veramu, Jimilai Wainibalagi and Osea Naidamu.
Other cabinet ministers who have decided to contest under the FijiFirst Party banner are Inia Seruiratu, Timoci Natuva, Jone Usamate, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, Viliame Naupoto and Doctor Neil Sharma.
Bainimarama said their proposed candidates are patriotic and will not focus on the politics of racial divide.
Former Permanent Secretary for Justice, Mere Vuniwaqa said she believes in equality and had no hesitation in joining FijiFirst.
Savusavu businesswoman, Lorna Eden believes that to make things happen, she needs to be part of the change that is now taking place.
Minister for Sports, Viliame Naupoto said the work that they have started from 2006 needs to continue.
Marine researcher, Teddy Fong said as a young person who has grown up in Fiji, it is time to take the country forward.
He said he believes in all the races working together and that is the main reason why he has joined the FijiFirst.
