FijiFirst General Secretary Aiyaz Sayed‑Khaiyum has stressed that NFP leader Professor Biman Prasad needs to grow up and that he needs to be honest with the people of Fiji to say that Prasad's economic policies are simply gimmicks.
This is in response to a statement by Professor Prasad who had raised concerns about Sayed‑Khaiyum visiting garment factories following a debate on Straight Talk last Thursday night.
Sayed‑Khaiyum says that Prasad has also gone to visit other business houses adding that he heard Prasad was at Rups talking to women at the cash register telling them that NFP will pay them $5 an hour.
He says that Prasad is very silly to have made those kind of comments, and he needs to know that this is election time and people will go out and to talk to people.
In a statement, Professor Prasad said that in a debate with Aiyaz Sayed‑Khaiyum last Thursday, he said he would not be surprised if Sayed‑Khaiyum appeared at a garment factory last Friday and sure enough last Friday Sayed‑Khaiyum popped up in two garment factories in Valelevu and Nadawa.
Prasad also said in the statement that it is all threats and intimidation by FijiFirst adding that NFP has promised to consult and work together with everyone in everything they do.
