United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres met with Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama today and apart from climate change, discussions also focused on Fiji’s role in international peacekeeping.
Republic of Fiji Military Forces Commander Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto and Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho were also part of the meeting.
Guterres said there is a debt of gratitude that the international community owes to Fiji for being a strong partner in peacekeeping.
Bainimarama says during the meeting he assured the UN Secretary General that Fiji would continue to answer the call to serve UN peacekeeping operations throughout the world.
