Fiji today is the strongest, the most prosperous, the most innovative and the most united it has ever been.

These were the words of Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama while addressing close to 20 prominent business people from Melbourne and Sydney during a business luncheon.

Bainimarama also highlighted that opportunities existed for Australian investors in growing the Fijian economy adding that Fiji is the hub of the Pacific, the hub of trade, business and development.

The Prime Minister says Fiji has done exceptionally well over the past decade, as seen quite clearly through the strength of the Fijian economy.

He adds the Fijian economy is now poised to grow for the ninth consecutive year, which is the longest period of sustained economic growth ever recorded in the country’s history.

Bainimarama also highlighted to the business leaders the sectors in which they could tap into as investors with the Fijian government pouring resources into infrastructure.

The business community also got an opportunity to raise issues with the Fijian delegation, particularly on land issues.
