The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team will meet South Africa in the first Cup semifinal of the Vancouver 7s at 10 o’clock this morning after Fiji edged New Zealand 22-21 in their Cup quarterfinal match.
Josua Vakurunabili scored Fiji’s first try while Aminiasi Tuimaba scored a double.
Tuimaba ran 75 metres to score his second try after an incredible break from the 22-metre line.

The most critical play of the match came with only seconds left on the clock through a break by Paula Dranisinukula and offload by Tuimaba to speedster Alasio Naduva who touched down in the corner for the winning try.

Fiji’s was consistent in defence and provided a lot of contest at the breakdown.
They managed to deliver the win despite some controversial decisions by the referee.

After the match, Coach Gareth Baber said they will not stop working and he has asked fans to keep believing.
Meanwhile, South Africa was the first to qualify for the Cup semifinals after beating Argentina 33-13.
The Cup semifinals of the Vancouver 7s will start at 10 o’clock this morning while the Cup final will kick off at 1.19pm.
