Unfortunately, Fiji has had periods where there was no peace and people judged each other because of their ethnicity.
These were the words of the Acting Prime Minister and Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-khaiyum while officiating at the launch of International Day of Peace at Saru MGM Primary School in Lautoka.
Sayed-Khaiyum says this happened because people in the past and politicians talked about racial and religious differences.
He says we are all Fijians and we should also be willing to work together.
Sayed-Khaiyum says peace comes from within you if you feel comfortable about who you are.
The Acting Prime Minister also called on the 300 students that were present at the International Day of Peace to start with smiling as it does not cost a single cent, to spread the message of peace.
Sayed-Khaiyum also thanked the Fiji Scouts Association for taking out their personal time to spend it with the scouts to develop their talents without being paid a single cent.
