The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team has defeated Samoa 35-12 in their first match of the Paris 7s.
The national side scored five tries from Sevuloni Mocenacagi and Kalione Nasoko in the first half which took them to an early lead at 14-12.
Samoa scored two tries from Malu Falaniko and Tofatuimoana Solia.
Fiji 7s coach Gareth Baber made some changes in the second and brought in Semi Kunatani, Jasa Veremalua, Alasio Naduva, Amenoni Nasilasila and Waisea Nacuqu.

Kunatani quickly made his presence known with a quick try in the second minute of the second half while Jasa Veremalua score the last two tries to take the final score to 35.
Fiji showed their dominance at the breakdowns and maintaining control of the game despite the slippery condition.
Fiji will now take on Kenya at 11.46pm before taking on New Zealand at 5.40am tomorrow.
