Acting Prime Minister, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Tuvalu Prime Minister, Enele Sopaaga this morning to formalize the Fiji Workers Volunteer Scheme which is already being practiced in Tuvalu.
Speaking at the ceremony this morning, Sayed-Khaiyum highlighted that Fiji will always be keen to help Tuvalu in their areas of need.
He also said that the Fiji government will continue to foster and collaborate good relationships with its pacific island neighbors.
Tuvalu Prime Minister, Enele Sopaaga said that the MOU on the Fiji Workers Volunteer Scheme is an important opportunity for Tuvalu to improve its human resources capacities in education and other areas.
He also specifically highlighted that volunteer Fijian teachers who are currently in Tuvalu are improving the standard of education in the communities they serve.
He also thanked the Fiji government for its vision and collaboration.
