Fiji Television Limited has refuted allegations of wrong doing which have been alleged by two of its former employees Tanya Waqanika and Tevita Gonelevu.
CEO of Fijian Holdings Limited which is the majority shareholder of Fiji TV, Nouzab Fareed said the decision to terminate the two employees were made by a duly constituted Board of Directors of Fiji TV.
Fareed said this was done without interference, direction or pressure by the Attorney General, Solicitor General or any other officer.
He said the two employees that were sent home should refer to their employment contracts which is clear on terms of engagement and termination.
Fareed said the pair was sent home not because of a single event but because of an accumulation of events.
He added they have also paid the two whatever they were due according to their contracts.
Meanwhile, Former Head of Content for Fiji Television Limited Tanya Waqanika claimed that the reason why she lost her job was for Fiji TV to secure its network license.
Former CEO of Fiji Television Limited Tevita Gonelevu and Waqanika also called for a Commission of Enquiry to investigate their termination.
Waqanika said if they file for legal action it will be under the grounds of unfair and unlawful dismissal.
